I Wish ..... - By : Asinate

                                                                       I Wish ......

It is a lifetime opportunity to be someone that you have been wishing to be forever , if I have to choose I would choose my loving father  . I would love to experience what he goes through every day  . I would not want to be someone famous because they could always look good on camera but off camera no thanks.

Dear futuer child - By : Asinate

                                       Dear futuer child

The  3 priorities that my future child needs to learn are:  My first choice  would be manners , I would teach my kid manners so wherever they go they have respect in  them.  Secondly I would teach my kids about happiness that it is always alright to be sad and it is ok to have your ups and downs . Lastly I would teach my child about life that everything does always rely on them .

The World is coming to an end ( poem ) :

The world is coming to an end

Rent bills are rising,

More people are suffering,

Covid - 19 hit us with an empowering pound,

The Delta Variant hit us and is making sound,

Grocery shops with empty shelves,

All the food is running out,

Food prices going up,

Why isn't the original price enough?,

Smiles covered by a mask,

People emotions at Wrath,

Roads are empty,

Peoples turned off sanity,

Dairy’s are left deserted and lonely,

Businesses are failing consistently,The world has collapsed into a form of darkness,

Leaving souls and faces of pure sadness,

The happiness and the outdoors have been extracted,

Families and friends who have been restrained,

Privilege and opinions that have been detained,

The virus constructed protest that has occured,

The world's future has come to a blur,

But how much more can we endure?,

Finance, bills, taxes, all unpaid,

Jobless citizens suffering in pain,

Countries are fighting,

More kids are crying,

And don’t forget, people are dying,

Bit by bit we are losing each other,

Why can’t we just take care of one another?

BOOMS erupting,

It seems so disgusting,

Why is it us kids don’t have the voices to speak,

But we have the brains to think.

A Slip of Hope ( Poem ) :

 A Slip Of Hope

I am sick of staying in the house

when people are out here trying to protest to get out,

My emotions just need to be  shouted out,

All I want to do is just see people face to face ,

Because It all started with the first covid case,

I am sick of using technology day and day,

Wishing there was something to say,

Hearing the news night to night is just a nightmare,

Do people really care?

What is going on with this world?

My life has now curled,

Can’t people just listen to the rules that they are given,

Do protesters need to be forgiven?,

But my dreams are my diary of hope,

My Goals that are dangling on a rope,

Grasping on the hands of belief,

Wishing the world was above not beneath,

Believing in what the world can do,

Is a blur vision that is renewed,

But if we try, we may succeed,

If we just have hope and belief...

Positives from room 8 :

Positives from Room 8

 As Lockdown has been tough,

And the outdoor restrictions that are rough,

There's moments in Lockdown that Room 8 really loves,

So lets share what we know,

From the top then below,

Something all our students enjoy,

Is spending time with family, How can you avoid

We love the sibling get togethers,

Our Dads telling terrible bad jokes, oh brother?

Our Mum’s and I’s special breakfast, lunch, and dinner to eat,

It's such a scrumptious and delicious treat,

Awesome family Celebrations,

For special time occasions,

So many whereby meets,

Day and night, Night and Day,

Too many words some have been waiting to say,

Laughter has broken out,

Oh what's that? I’ve been too loud?

Oof this wifi has gotten a little lame,

But at least I would still be able to see and hear those faces of shame!

So covid, you want to interrupt my friendships? Well too bad! because they always stay the same,

All I want to do is just see people face to face ,

Because It all started with the first covid case,

Waiting in a long line just to get a never ending stick up  your nose,

Let me tell you it does not smell like a rose,

So, go and get your first vaccine dose!

And don’t wait,

Before it is all too late,

breathe in breathe out,

your emotions should be flooded out,

Smiles of joy seem to be one last lonely boy,

It was always “go outside and get some new fresh air”,

Now it is “ i don’t care “,

What’s the point of going outside to exercise when covid isn’t fair?

polluted air has got to the sky, I wish I could just cry.

We've been trapped in our houses for so many weeks,

My sanity is going down,

The urge I have to just scream and shout,

But what gets me going,

Is that lockdown cannot break people's creativity ( Which is brightly showing) ,

Artistic features I can inform,

Unique Art pieces in different forms,

Cooking, Drawing, Painting, sculpting and much more,

Lockdown maybe the sadness in me that's for sure,

But Lockdown cannot break my smile,

Cause I know it will last a while,

Thanks to New Zealand showing us their best,

Even at the worst time, New Zealand's doings are always expressed,

From cleaning the house to sweeping outside,

I will rather hide ,

Unfortunately we are cleaning non-stop,

I wish your reward can be from the gift shop,

Wishing there was something to say,

We will not be having a good day.

All of these moments in our lives that Room 8 Love,

Finally we finished writing, bottom and above.

Belive in what you can do : By Asinate

A  million dreams to chase, one day. I want to become a flight attendant accompanying people, serving them, socialising and getting a great view.

Flight attendants play a big part on an air plane. Talking about the safety rules, serving cups of tea and coffee, soothing those who may be scared and also getting to know other co-workers, are all important roles for flight attendants.

I feel like I would enjoy being a flight attendant as I have great leadership skills. I am able to take charge of different situations immediately and I have a lot of common sense. I love to take care of those around me who might be scared or new to flying. I am kind and compassionate when talking to the public and I can also speak two languages which are very important in the flying industry.

I am an independent person and love to do things on my own. I love to comfort others whatever they are going through on the plane, at the airport or in life in general. I enjoy travelling around  New Zealand  and I also enjoy long flights just like how I like long car rides!

I believe that I would be an excellent  flight attendant because I have the leadership skills, patience and the passion to work with people making their travel safe and enjoyable.

Maggots life cycle: Asinate

It is common for people to NOT realise how beneficial maggots are to the health industry. They eat dead tissue within wounds and cleaning it so it can heal. As of knowing this, I have created a life cycle of Maggots.

A Cool Experience: By Asinate

My hands shiver and begin to sweat, my legs shake with fear as we make it to Stonefields School part of the process drama. Four other students  Aleenah, Augustine,Giselle, Xavier and I had to teach the teachers all about  process drama. We based our conventions on a movie called Yellow Umbrella. It had four  different  themes: Fear, Hope, Sacrifice and Love.

I had the job of being in the Hot Seat where everyone fired questions that you had to try and answer. It was scary, the questions were not that hard because I knew the story and the character, I was only scared because the teachers were firing questions at me and I suddenly thought I might not know the answer. I also got the job of explaining how to do a Proximity, which is where all the teachers had to get in a circle and a person had to move in to the middle of the circle and just stand there. The people still standing in the circle have to move and choose their proximity to show how they feel about the character in the middle.

This opportunity was a great experience as I got to teach people that were older than me and show intense skills in Process Drama.

Christian's Diary

Dear Diary:

I feel pain as I inhale toxic air. My heart is pumping up and down as I lose control of my heavy breathing. Screaming for help, families screaming for their kids telling them "GO PROTECT YOURSELF" as guns shots fire. I sniff fire that keeps blazing, buildings collapsing. People limping to safety, bodies now ash spread on the road.
I have ANXIETY.  " Ya rajul ya lah min yawm!"  ( Man what a day ).

Diary : Asinate

Dear Diary :

Voices screaming with happiness and joy. Old sheets, covered with cob webs. His body odour floated  around the room. So many pressures were put on me. I felt relief as I get a unique smile back. I feel good knowing I did that...I created that smile

A Sailing Experience- Asinate

                                  A   Sailing  Experience

It was a gloomy forecast for sailing as the Years 7 and 8 of Saint Patrick school hop onto the bus towards the sailing venue. When we got to our destination, we got greeted by the lovely people Holly, Colin, Robbie and Kim. We also got greeted by our sponsors of St Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand. Thanks to them for sponsoring our class so we can experience the fun of sailing. Thank you for coming and taking the time out of your day to talk to us. As I got with my partner Giselle, we pushed our boat into the water. The ground was super slippery. We both tried our best to make it there without slipping but it was tricky. We hopped in the boat and it already nearly tipped over so we had to balance the boat, it was very hard to do. After we had lunch, we got in the boat again and Holly told us to push the boat more into the water. After pushing the boat for about 5 minutes we made no progress (I don't know why) the water was pushing us to the side. Giselle and I just hopped into the boat and tried to sail with the others and we both fell out of the boat AGAIN and stared to push the boat as we swam. When we finally got to the deep side, we got on and sailed again which ended up with us two falling off but this time the boat came along. Once again thank you so much to St Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand for sponsoring us and letting us have a fun experience.

Diary Entry

This is a diary entry I have written in response  to a short  animated movie we are studying for literature.

Dear Diary:

Help, I am horrified seizing my tears together, I feel abandoned. As my glum tears pour uncontrollably, I feel depressed. As I witness something, terrified guiltiness roamed around my soul. As he wrapped his bright yellow scarf, I could smell the scent, he still wore my mum's perfume. It smelt like home. We both snuffle in our tears uttering "goodbye ."

Praying in colour: By Asinate

This term in prayer we are learning about different ways to pray. Today we did a prayer in "colour" praying for all those who need us at this time.

My Favour Vales : By Asinate

Today we discussed our values. We had to dig deep and think hard about what really counts. I chose the value of my name because  it has a special meaning, I am named after 10 generations that were all girls and only one boy who I was named after. My name means beautiful flower! This is why I have chose my name, my name that was given to me by my parents. I feel blessed to have this name. I created my value in clay so I could be reminded about what it means to me personally.

Stations of the Cross: By Asinate

                 Stations of the Cross 2021

Stations of the cross is that day of the year when we all remember that Jesus has died on the cross for our sins.

The 1st of April  all of  the Saint Patrick’s students came together to watch the reenactment of the stations of the cross. Year 7 and 8 were to act for the Stations of the Cross. I played the part of Veronica, the sister of Mary. I had to wipe the face of Jesus (who was

Augustine). We had 5 practises and 1 dress rehearsal. There were a few mess ups, giggling and facial expressions but on the day we remained in the role and did a great job. There were 14 stations. It went from when Jesus had to carry the cross to being buried in the cave.
